Words – Definition & Meaning
I have a great fondness for words
Words that spit venom
Injecting poison in every syllable
Until it freezes heart or breath
And words that carry soft caresses
To gentle uneasy hearts
To bring calm to troubled souls
Putting them at ease
Words depend on context
To give them meaning
And put them in their proper place
And in their proper order
Words can be cruelly misused
When dealt without consideration
For the consequences
Of their utterance
Oh, the damage they can do
They have power beyond their meaning
Depending on the order
In which they are placed
And where they are directed
It does not matter the words you say
What matters more is how you say them
Their intent may be benign
But their effect can be painful
Or pacifying
Hurtful or healing
Take care, not just what you say
But how you say it
And who you say it to
