Conjuring Rabbits

Conjuring Rabbits

What shall we debate today?

This or that or the other thing?

The price of eggs?

Or whether God exists?

No matter.

I’m ready for a good back-and-forth

And a bucket-full of mental sweat.

I’m feisty and full of kick.

You pick the topic

And the first volley is yours.

I have been a spring over-wound

For much too long

And I am ready.

Have a go.

No matter the topic,

No matter the side.

If I don’t have a quick retort,

I will conjure rabbits from hats

To counter your claim.

An arguement from whole cloth

Made of smoke and mirrors.

And so, idle too long,

There is much that needs to be unwound.
