Precision

PRECISION

(When words get in the way)

“What I really meant to say”

Should not be in your repertoire.

Too many words.

My stated mission is to stamp out excess

And remove ego from my work.

To that end,

Haiku is such a delight,

Small digestible pieces of art

Condensed to a formula

And offered like pieces of sushi

On a silver plate.

Each is crafted with precision

And says no more than necessary.

One flavour, maybe two,

Blended, but complimentary,

Wrapped to be appealing

While hinting at the contents.

I want to reduce my verbiage

To the precision of a Haiku,

Edit my lines with a jeweller’s eye

And strike each line just so

To reveal “What it was I said“.
