A Palimpsest is usually a painting or a document that has been over-written, covering the original work to either hide the original or for purposes of recycling where the original material was too rare or expensive: for example, vellum.
Much of what I write is a thinly veiled autobiography – that’s the hidden part. Much of it is also cathartic in nature, an attempt to explain myself (often to myself) to better understand my place in this chaotic world.
It is also, in part, a belief system that tries to explain spirituality while excluding theism. It celebrates (and occasionally berates) the human spirit, elevating it to something more than flesh and blood but less than Godly. I believe we exist to serve each other, to nurture our children and work to undo the damage we have done.
It has not been an easy task.
