Seems Like Magic
I think to myself,
“Gee, that sounds like a neat phrase.
Maybe I can use it later.”
What to do?
I’ve often wondered how a Priest, Minister, Rabbi or Imam
Comes up with a new sermon/subject
Every Saturday/Sunday.
A preacher friend once confessed
That he keeps a few sermons
In his back pocket
For emergencies.
I keep phrases the same way,
Presenting each one
With a serendipitous flourish
At the right time and in the right place,
Polishing each to a perfect shine
Then presenting it to the world
In a flash.
It seems like magic
But its really just careful planning
And an eye for detail.
