OZYMANDIAS
My name is Ozymandias.
Look on my works ( please ).
I build cathedrals with phrases.
I plant gardens with pages of print.
I erect towers of poetry and prose.
I sow fields with words,
Words that scatter on my page.
Like seeds from the sower,
Some fall on fertile soil
While others land on barren.
I tended them as I could
And nurtured them when I was able.
But seasons can end without a harvest,
And so lay the broken towers of Ozymandias
Rising from the desert
Whose ruins hint at grandeur
And only the sand remembers the glory.
This work may be the only sign
That I passed this way.
Let it stand for a while.
