Talk To Me

Speak words that will make me listen

And attend to what you say.

I know you have a message of some import.

I see it behind your eyes,

In the quiver of your lips

It dances on the air like swallows on a wire,

Like the electric taste of lightening

Announcing a summer storm.

This message announces itself in subtler tones.

I need but tune my ear.

Say the words I need to hear,

Speech that comforts

Rhetoric that soars,

Encourage.  Discourage,

Praise or distain.

Just talk to me

Please.
