I am tickled by an image of Inspector Dreyfus <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giddy with a touch of sly madness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery day, in every way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am getting better and better\u201d,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A feel-good gem<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borrowed from Emile Coue<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though no one would decry the theft<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So appropriate to this case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Inspector is targeted<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a rubber-tipped arrow,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A suction cup planted between his brows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His madness is still subsurface,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A calm lake covering currents of chaos,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His dreams still haunted by Clouseau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Like a redemptive Scrooge,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t deserve to be this happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am almost high<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On something I don\u2019t recognize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere, Try this, It\u2019s really smooth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I only know that it is good<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond belief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A taste was all that it took.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where can I tap this well at will?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can I dip into it<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I am down?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I seem rejuvenated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An unknown side effect<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known only to aficionados <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And hardcore happiness addicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If this is senility,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring it on,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing to be feared<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But embraced with gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am a thief in the dark<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come not to steal your secret<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But to share in it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Share your smile<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And paste it on my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laugh with your laugh<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Illuminate my eyes in the light of yours<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And hop the freight you\u2019re on<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And ride these rails<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wherever they take me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I am rejuvenated<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a de Leon-quest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a fountain of fireworks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And renewal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If this is senility,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring it on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
